TYPES OF FUNDING
Disability Support Services Subsidy
ACC
We start with a diagnostic hearing assessment to better understand your level of hearing loss and confirm your eligibility to apply for ACC funding. From there, your audiologist will assist you in lodging your claim with ACC.
ACC will arrange for you to see an Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT) specialist to make a specific diagnosis of noise-induced hearing loss or trauma-related hearing loss.
After the ENT specialist provides their report, ACC will review your claim and determine if you are eligible for funding towards hearing aids.
If your claim is approved, you can then select hearing aids that meet your needs and are covered by ACC funding.
Veteran Affairs
Veteran Affairs may assist those who have hearing loss related to active service. If you’ve served in the armed forces, let us know, and we can help with your funding application or contact your Veteran Affairs case manager.

"ENABLE" / EMS
Under Enable New Zealand EMS regulations, those with multiple disabilities or financial hardship may be eligible for funding. This includes people with moderate-to-severe hearing loss or those needing hearing aids for work, study, or caregiving.
Additionally, all children up to age 21 qualify for hearing aid funding while attending educational courses.

At Sally White Audiology, we work closely with patients to find the best solutions for both hearing aids and funding. We’ve helped nearly all of our patients secure the funding they need, and for cases that fall outside these options, we explore other creative solutions.
Each year, we also help distribute hearing aids through the New Zealand Audiological Society Hearing Aid Bank, which provides donated devices. Our audiologists are happy to share more information—just get in touch!
